Available Health Care Services

Ophthalmic Diagnostic Services

Ophthalmic diagnostics services play a crucial role in eye hospitals by providing comprehensive assessments and evaluations of various eye conditions and diseases. These services involve the use of advanced diagnostic techniques and equipment to accurately diagnose and monitor eye health.

At the centre, ophthalmic diagnostics services cover a wide range of evaluations and tests to identify and manage eye-related issues. These services are typically performed by highly trained ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other eye care professionals who specialize in diagnostic procedures.

One of the primary goals of ophthalmic diagnostics is to assess visual acuity and refractive errors, such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. This is often done through visual acuity tests and refraction measurements to determine the appropriate prescription for glasses or contact lenses.

Additionally, ophthalmic diagnostics services include the evaluation of eye health and the detection of eye diseases. This may involve the use of specialized imaging techniques, such as optical coherence tomography (OCT) or fundus photography, to examine the structures of the eye, including the retina, optic nerve, and cornea. These tests can help detect conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and other retinal disorders.

Furthermore, ophthalmic diagnostics may include assessments of the eye’s alignment and movement, evaluation of the anterior segment of the eye (including the lens and iris), and assessment of the intraocular pressure to screen for conditions like strabismus, cataracts, and glaucoma.

The results obtained from ophthalmic diagnostics services provide valuable information for ophthalmologists and other eye care professionals to develop personalized treatment plans and monitor the progression of eye conditions. Regular diagnostics and monitoring are essential for early detection, effective management, and prevention of vision loss.
